Played a little game called ‘Fear Less!’ that I enjoyed so much I had to draw something for it.
It has the exactly sort of hand-drawn pixel art that I like, coupled with a theme of overcoming recurring nightmares.
Once I got used to the sword mechanic (its a little minigame, rather than being buttonpress-to-use) it took me right back to the old 8 bit days of repetition and reflexes. I even bound the two keys to a controller, which I felt enhanced the experience.
Even the music perfectly evoked the feeling of running breathless through an endless dreamscape. (Listen to it here)
Anyway, give it a shot. Fear Less! on Kongregate.
My current workspace setup! Got my electronics workbench on the left, my drafting table in the middle, my computer/cintiq on the right and my chair in the middle. I just have to spin in my chair to have ready access to all of it.
I’ve been doing mostly electronics lately, though I have been pining to do more art.

Catching up on episodes of Motorcity!
This drawing is, of course, an homage to those old wartime posters of Rosie the Riveter. It was the first thing I thought of when the character ‘Tenny’ was introduced to the series.

I beg your mercy, Time Baby!
After watching the latest episode of Gravity Falls, I just had to draw an animated GIF of Time Baby, floating menacingly.
This time I animated it using the timeline in photoshop. Made a bit of a breakthrough when I realized that you could give folders their own timelines, so I could layer on effects and make changes without breaking the animation. In this way it was easy to animate the kirby crackles in the background. Still haven’t figured out photoshop tweening, so I just copied the baby five times to animate his gentle bobbing.
If you are curious, here is a link to my initial sketch.

Faharis asked for a ‘strong female character with an emphasis on practicality’ without specifying any particular character, so I just pulled up some reference pictures of backs and shoulders to make this sketch of a lady pulling her hair into a practical ponytail.

Cypressphoenix was technically first, since she dropped a request in my askbox while I was fixing my first post. She gets a Finn and Jake, Brofisting.
Now to work on the others!
Isn’t there a type of slime monster that takes the bones of its victims and uses them for structure and support?
Now I just keep thinking about a modern city populated by monsterpeople.

I animated a little BMO walk cycle in TVPaint!
After my last animation post, someone suggested that I try out the animation program TVpaint, since it has a raster-based drawing interface. I have to say, I really like a lot of what It can do. I’m still getting used to its little oddities, but i can see myself doing more with it.
